For the Completist

The Last Drop Distillers: Buffalo Trace 1982
For true bourbon enthusiasts, The Last Drop Distillers has just launched an exclusive single-cask 1982 spirit from the award-winning Buffalo Trace distillery in Kentucky. Coinciding with the rare-spirits company’s 10-year anniversary, this special release comprises just 44 hand-numbered bottles and is The Last Drop’s first bourbon among its exceptional roster of rarities. At its peak, this distillation was removed from its American oak barrels to preserve its constitution: a nose of marmalade and coffee, a tropical richness on the palate, and finish of vanilla notes and oak. As with all releases from The Last Drop, each bottle is presented with its signature 50ml replica miniature and pocket-sized tasting book with additional pages for your personal notes.

For the Strategist

L’Objet Backgammon
Not all fun-filled evenings demand cocktails and canapés. For some, chess is as rewarding as a glass of perfectly chilled Chardonnay, and backgammon as satisfying as Burgundy—though both games work well with a glass or two of something from the cellar. L’Objet’s latest range of games includes a backgammon set with a board in Macassar ebony wood and checkers in brass with natural shell inlays, and a chess set with marble pieces, both stylish enough to leave out when not involved in a strong match of strategy and will.

L’Objet’s range of stylish traditional parlor games—including backgammon, chess, tic-tac-toe, dominoes, and decorative playing cards—are so well designed that you’ll want to leave them out on display long after a winner has been declared.

On the nose, expect notes of dried fruits and raisins, with a full-bodied palate of dried fruit, smoke and toasty oak. Selected by Asbel Morales, Tributo 2018 is one of only 2,500 bottles to be released.
